Madam,
I was in Aberystwyth earlier this month, driving a coach and found several vehicles parked in the bus/coach bays along Marine Terrace. This meant that I had to block the road to other traffic whilst everyone got off the coach (elderly included).
I took pictures with dates and times, clearly showing locations, and then contacted the county council. They didn’t seem at all interested in people parking illegally. A police officer told me the pictures with details of vehicles, locations and registrations, etc, would stand up in a court of law.
It seems to me the council doesn’t want tourists in the town, So now I will spread the word to other coach companies to take their passengers to other seaside town which will certainly welcome the tourism.
Tourists will not be attracted to Aberystwyth if coaches and buses cannot drop passengers off on the promenade. And those in cars caught up in needless traffic congestion will just go elsewhere too.
Yours etc,
Jimmy Dundee, Rutland Road, Christchurch, Dorset.
