FAMILY members have paid a heartfelt tribute to a popular farmer who has died following a quad bike crash on the Llyn Peninsula.

Harri Wyn Thomas died following a collision shortly after 7pm on 18 March on the B4413 between Llanbedrog and Mynytho.

Mr Thomas, who was in his forties, was airlifted to hospital in Stoke by the air ambulance but later died as a result of his injuries.

In a tribute, his family said: “This has been a massive shock to all Harri’s family and friends. Harri was a hard worker and farming was his life.

“He loved working on the family farm. He was popular with all his friends and family and he will be sadly missed by us all.”

Gwynedd councillor Angela Russell was upset to hear of the farmer’s tragic death.

“It was a terrible shock to us all to hear about Harri’s accident, especially since he was so close to his own farm,” Cllr Russell told the Cambrian News.

“It’s a testament to his work ethic that he was out in such horrible weather to look after his animals.

“He was a very well-known and well-liked character and he’ll be much missed.

“My sincerest condolences to all his family and friends.”
