FARM owners near Arthog have been left “completely devastated” after one their workers was struck by a bale of hay and later died in hospital.

Julie Ann Parry, 49, who briefly sat on Arthog Community Council, lost her life following an incident at Bwlchgwyn Farm and Pont Trekking Centre last Tuesday.

It is believed she was tending to horses when she was struck by the large hay bale.

In an emotional tribute, a spokesperson for the farm said: “As a family we are completely devastated at the loss of Julie.

“She was an extremely loyal member of staff and a true people’s person and very popular with everybody, especially our customers.

“She had a wonderful relationship with the horses, especially her beloved Romany. She will be sadly missed by us all at Bwlchgwyn.”

Devastated by the news, Julie’s father Stuart Eves paid tribute to the paramedics who attempted to save her life and said he was proud that his daughter had “not died in vain” after some of her organs were donated.
