Rotary Club
THE Rotary Club of Tywyn, in conjunction with the Stroke Association, held a very successful morning in the Baptist Church on Tywyn High Street on Saturday, 23 April to encourage members of the public to visit the medical professionals who presided over the event to check blood pressure. During the morning, 71 people had their blood pressure checked and many more were given leaflets which gave them full information about raised blood pressure and how it can be a risk factor for strokes and other medical problems. Many in the street were also given FAST test leaflets which help a layman to recognise the signs of a stroke and how to react. FAST stands for Facial weakness, Arm weakness, Speech problems and Time (to call 999) and applying these simple principles has been know to save lives in the past and hopefully will in the future. The Rotary Club of Tywyn would like to extend their sincere gratitude to all those who helped on the day.
