Madam,

Ceredigion County Council has produced a draft set of maps showing proposed new Active Travel routes and existing routes proposed for upgrades and would like your readers’ views.

The routes in Aberystwyth, Cardigan and Lampeter have been developed and reflect the public and stakeholder engagement undertaken earlier this year.

The maps, as part of the council’s commitment to making better provision for walkers and cyclists in Ceredigion, set out the 15-year programme of aspirational improvements to Active Travel routes.

There is now a public consultation on the council’s website and residents are encouraged to view the maps and submit any comment by 9 October.

The Integrated Network Map will then be submitted by 3 November to the Welsh Government for approval.

The views of Ceredigion residents have helped greatly in constructing these draft sets of comprehensive Integrated Maps required under Welsh Government legislation.

Thanks must also be given to the officers and all involved. The council is fully committed to looking for ways to increase the provision of active travel in the county and will take any opportunities available to obtain funding.

Yours etc,

Cllr Alun Williams, Cabinet Member with responsibility for Transport,

Ceredigion County Council.
