Madam,
Despite the publicity on the damage plastic waste is doing to our environment, I now find it impossible to buy most vegetables loose in any supermarket in Aberystwyth or Machynlleth. As well as the waste of packaging, forcing customers to buy vegetables in prescribed amounts only adds to food waste as people are pushed into buying more than they need.
Through your paper I challenge the supermarkets to justify why they continue to contribute to plastic and food waste, and to say why they cannot sell loose vegetables.
Yours etc,
Mick Green, Talybont.
