Madam,
I was very interested to note that the people of Llandecwyn are asking for the recently reduced road speed limit from 40mph to 30mph to be enforced by speed cameras.
As this stretch of road is very similar to the proposed Llanbedr bypass, can someone please explain why Gwynedd Council is asking for a road speed of 60mph with two T-junctions into Llanbedr (one is a no right turn) and one T-junction to Mochras, when Dolgellau bypass has recently had to install two roundabouts due to recent tragic accidents?
Also it appears that there are issues with the gradient and location to the railway crossing in relation to the Mochras road.
These issues, along with many more, have been raised by Llanbedr Community Council and submitted to the Snowdonia National Park.
Whilst I appreciate there are supporters for and against this scheme I wonder how many people have considered or are even aware of the implications if this scheme goes ahead as planned.
Yours etc,
Mark Williams, Llanbedr.
