DESPITE the snow and bitterly cold weather Lampeter shops put on a delightful variety of window displays for the first St David’s Day window dressing competition organised by the town council.

Spring in bright yellow daffodils and vibrant green and white leaks, traditional costume, the Blodeuwedd myth of owl and flowers, Welsh words, Welsh cakes, and cawl.

It was a pleasure to crunch along the snowy pavements looking at all the different displays (above).

The St David’s Day parade on Friday, 2 March, was led by the mayor Hag Harris, and deputy mayor Ann Morgan, with singing led by the Cwmann Male Voice choir and followed by an impressive number of residents and children braving the freezing temperature.
