On Saturday, 28 June, 14 members played in the Roy Moreton Competition which was sponsored by the Mermaid Fish Bar.

Following the knockout rounds through to the semi final were Patrick Martin v Roy Burford and Charles Martin v Colin Hopkins.

The winner and runner-up were congratulated by John Johnson, Vice Chairman, and winner Colin Hopkins was presented with the shield.
