First Qualifying Round Europa Conference League

BALA’S European journey is over after they lost 1-0 against Larne FC, the Northern Irish outfit going through 2-0 aggregate winners.

David McDaid’s early goal was all that separated the two sides at Park Hall last week and a solitary strike was enough to take the spoils in the return at Inver Park.

The Lakesiders were still very much in the game with seven minutes of normal time remaining but substitute Ronan Hale put the result beyond doubt, cutting in from the left to curl an unstoppable effort past Bala keeper Alex Ramsay.

It was the correct result on the balance of play as the Irish Premiership side had created several decent chances before 850 fans.

Bala’s best chances came in the first half, Will Evans heading over following a corner and former Wales international Dave Edwards trying his luck from the edge of the area, the ball sailing just past the post.

They also had a shout for a penalty when Evans went down in the area but the referee waved play on.
