BONT need to avoid defeat in their final match at home to local rivals Tregaron Turfs to clinch the Cambrian Tyres Aberystwyth District League title for a second successive season on Saturday.

The 2017 champions are level on points with title rivals Bow Street Reserves, who have completed their fixtures, but Bont have an inferior goal difference to the Magpies, and will need at least a point against the third-placed Turfs.

Bow Street Reserves had taken the division one title race to the wire with a 4-0 win over Aberystwyth University Reserves at Cae Piod in their final game of the season on Thursday evening.

Justin Quinn scored twice, along with goals by Ian Evans and Nicky Smith - and they will now look forward to playing in two cup finals at Park Avenue next week.

The Magpies face Tregaron Turfs in the Cambrian Tyres League Cup on Tuesday, and before playing division two champions Tywyn/Bryncrug Reserves next Friday in the Len and Julia Newman Memorial Cup.

Tywyn/Bryncrug Reserves had clinched the Cambrian Tyres Aberystwyth and District League division two title on Wednesday night as they made it nine wins from nine with a dominant 7-1 win over Padarn Reserves.

Aled Jones fired a hat-trick, along with two goals from Ben Holt and singles by Ethan Rodgers and Cullen Rodgers, as Tywyn stayed five points clear of Penparcau, with just one league match to go. Matt Higgs replied for Padarn Reserves.

Penparcau meanwhile kept pace with a 4-0 win over Llanon in midweek, courtesy of a Jake Bush hat-trick and a James Strong goal, whilst goals from Aled Rumble, Murray Pugh, Lewis Tomlins and Mikey Winter-Bruce earned Llanilar Reserves a 4-2 win over visitors Aberdyfi. Luke Fox and Liam Fox replied.

The free-scoring Ben Holt had scored a staggering 13 goals in three matches to take Tywyn/Bryncrug Reserves to within one win of claiming the Cambrian Tyres Aberystwyth League division two title.

On Monday evening, they emphatically registered an eighth successive league win with 9-1 win at Llanilar Reserves, with Ben Holt scoring another hat-trick.

Mark Edmondson also netted a treble for Tywyn, along with goals from Aled Jones, Ryan Goddard and Ben Richards - and they sealed the deal on Wednesday.
