BORTH United lost ground on high-flying Berriew as they slipped to a narrow 3-2 away defeat on their travels in the Spar Mid Wales League division two.

Richard Davies hit the base of the post for the hosts early on, and it took some superb saves from Ben Willis in the Borth goal to deny them.

Borth, however, came into the match and following a corner kick Josh Ferreira slid in a low shot, to give the visitors the lead at the interval.

The hosts came out with all guns blazing in the second half, with Willis again saving well, but when a long kick from Jay Walker fell to Jamie Evans, he rounded the home keeper for a 2-0 lead.

Jamie Evans had to replace the injured Willis in goal, and Karl Seliaerts capitalised by scoring with a low shot to reduce the deficit.

A left wing cross was then met by Richard Davies to score the equaliser, and as Borth tried valiantly to hold on for a precious point, Berriew broke away on the right and Jonny Roberts scored what proved the winner.Read the full report in the Aberystwyth edition
