Padarn United returned to action with a 3-1 win in tricky conditions against Machynlleth Reserves, with goals from Tegid Owen, Billy Williams and a superb finish by Shane Gornall to go fourth in the table.
Aberdyfi notched their first league win in division two as two goals by Luke Fox and singles by namesakes Liam Fox and Sean Fox sealed an excellent 4-1 home win over joint leaders Llanon, with Tom Williams scoring the reply for the visiting team.
Cwpan Coffa Dai ‘Dynamo’ Davies
BONT kicked off the new year with a defeat as they bowed out of the Cwpan Coffa Dai ‘Dynamo’ Davies with a 3-1 reverse against Cardigan Town at Parc Pantyfedwen last weekend.
Josh Mellor, from the penalty spot, Tomos Toft and Emlyn George sealed the win for the youthful Costcutter Ceredigion League side, who showed resilience at the back against the high-flying Cambrian Tyres League outfit.
The hosts started brightly, but in Cardigan’s first meaningful attack they were awarded a contentious penalty, when Mellor went down in the box, and he stepped up to slot home.
Despite further Bont pressure, Cardigan dealt better with an increasingly heavy pitch in the second half, and when a cross wasn’t cleared Tomos Toft found the net with an easy tap in.
With 25 minutes left, Ben Lewis halved the deficit with a stunning curling effort in to the top corner, and Bont had two glorious chances to level, but couldn’t convert from close in.
Ten minutes from time they were punished when a good run down the right was finished off with a great strike by Emlyn George into the bottom corner of the home side’s net.
