Bow Street FC have advanced their coaching credentials with head of youth development Amlyn Ifans gaining the FAW/UEFA B Licence.

Amlyn, a previous FAW Community Coach of the Year in 2018, began the B Licence back in September 2020 under the tutelage of Gareth Owen (FAW Trust) and Colin Littejohns (Everton FC). The intense course involved a number of practical and theory sessions, with a number held virtually due to Covid-19 restrictions.

Amlyn said: “I am delighted to have finally received confirmation that I have now passed the FAW B Licence after a number of practical and theory sessions, made all the harder by the pandemic. I hope I can pass my knowledge on, and the new Tier 3 Reserves set up through our own reserve team offers a great opportunity, as does my work with the juniors at Bow Street.”

Chairman Wyn Lewis added: "We knew Amlyn would pass with flying colours given his background with our juniors set up, FAW Girls Huddle as well as the senior sides.

"Amlyn is now widely respected as one of the leading youth development coaches in Wales and we are so fortunate he’s such a key figure within the club.

"We now hope that this provides the platform to be awarded the highest ‘Platinum’ accreditation by the FAW Trust for our Juniors section in due course."
