BARMOUTH & Dyffryn United cruised into the next round of the CEFA Emrys Morgan Cup with a ruthless 13-1 victory at Corris United on Saturday.

The Magpies were in control from the outset and opened the scoring after just seven minutes through Joe Thomas. Brodie Pugh doubled the lead three minutes later and, sensing an opportunity to put the tie beyond doubt early on, the visitors continued to attack at every opportunity.

Thomas struck again on 17 minutes before Pugh completed his brace just before the half-hour mark. Sixteen-year-old Dewey Wright added a fifth 10 minutes before the break as Barmouth took a commanding advantage into half-time.

The one-sided pattern continued after the restart. Wright netted his second of the afternoon five minutes into the second half, while Deegan John, Mikael Olewicz and Ryan Williams all added their names to the scoresheet.

Thomas then completed his hat-trick to make it 10-0.

To their credit, Corris continued battling and were rewarded with a consolation goal, but Barmouth finished the tie strongly. Olewicz grabbed his second of the game before Wright took centre stage, scoring twice late on to complete a four-goal haul.

Llandysul also progressed with a convincing 3-1 win away to Aberaeron at the Square Field.

Steffan Morris gave the visitors an early advantage after 10 minutes and veteran Meirion Evans quickly doubled the lead. Evans struck again eight minutes into the second half to put Llandysul firmly in control and effectively seal their place in the next round.

Rhydlan Lake pulled a goal back for Aberaeron, but the hosts were unable to mount a comeback.

Tywyn Bryncrug's cup run came to an end following a hard-fought 4-2 defeat at Welshpool Town.

Jamie Pymm and Nick Williams kept the visitors in contention, but goals from Daniel Morris (2), Ethan Kinsey and Richard Litchfield saw Welshpool through.
