Cefn Druids 0 Aberystwyth Town 2

HALF TIME

Aberystwyth are looking to get back to winning ways tonight at The Rock against bottom of the table Cefn Druids and are well placed to do so after scoring two late first half goals.

Skipper Marc Williams put the Seasiders ahead on 43 minutes with a cool finish after being put clear for a one-on-one with the keeper.

And they strengthened their grip on proceedings when Jamie Reed netted against his former club after running on to a delightful cross field by Williams.

Manager Gavin Allen put Steven Hewitt and Jonathan Evans back in the starting eleven in place of Jack Rimmer and Dan Cockerline with skipper Marc Williams returning in place of Harry Franklin.

Young defender Lee Jenkins headed an early effort wide for the hosts while the Druids registered their first shot on target on five minutes through Niall Flint before Naim Arsan fired over seconds later.

Jenkins saw another effort saved by keeper Michael Jones after good link-up play by Jamie Veale and Jamie Reed.

At the other end, Charley Edge fired wide for the hosts on 16 minutes and moments later Aber’s Jon Owen failed to connect properly with a shot and the ball went past the post.

Aber players claimed for a penalty for handball on 20 minutes but the referee signalled play on.
