Llanidloes Town made it a happy Easter by lifting Radnorshire Cup with a convincing 6-2 victory over Radnor Valley in the final at Rhayader’s Weirglodd.

The MMP Mid Wales League division one title chasers produced one of their best displays of the season, with Gregg Brown leading the way with two strikes.

“It was fantastic performance considering we had five or six out,” said Daffs' manager Hugh Clarke. “It’s the first time a lot of these lads have lifted a trophy like this, and it was a great day all round for everyone who is involved with the club.

“We’ve been threatening to score a lot of goals this season, so it’s a good time to do it in a final. I couldn’t fault anyone, and it’s hard to pick a man of the match.”

Brown put the Daffs on course with a superb 30-yard chip, before a close range shot by Peter Rees made it 2-0 at the half-time interval.

Gareth Owen increased the lead after the break and, despite veteran Geraint Lloyd pulling one back for Radnor pulling one back, Jordan Jones restored the three goal cushion, before a stunning 25-yard strike from Ash Owen sealed the victory.

Joey Price reduced the deficit, but the Daffs had the last word as Brown netted with a terrific left footed chip into the net.
