LLANYSTUMDWY brought down the curtain on their Gwynedd League campaign with a 2-2 home draw with Gwalchmai, to confirm their third from top finish.
Top scorer Sion Parry opened Llanystumdwy’s account on 16 minutes but Gwalchmai, the Safeflue Shield winners against Nefyn United late last month, battled back to go in 2-1 up at half-time with replies by Owain Williams on 28 minutes and Geraint Jones, with a penalty on 45.
Llanystumdwy’s Rhys Hughes then converted from the spot on 55 minutes, to earn the hosts only their second draw all season in 32 league and cup games.
In midweek, Llanystumdwy had won 3-0 at Bontnewydd, with second half goals from Kyle Williams on 57 minutes, Joe Soar on 68 and Sion Parry on 85.
Champions Holyhead Town suffered a rare 2-1 defeat at Bontnewydd, who scored through Dylan Price on 60 minutes and Ian Pleming on 81, to nullify the visitors’ opener from Sion Davies on 48.
Menai Bridge Tigers meanwhile roared to a 5-0 win at Talysarn Celts, with goals by Dafydd Healy on 27 minutes, Owain Griffith on 39, Andy Wannop on 44, Gethin Davies on 81 and Owain Fon on 82.
