ABERYSTWYTH Town provided plenty of cheer at Park Avenue as they produced a wonderful pre-Christmas performance to beat 10-man Bangor City by four clear goals in heavy rain on Saturday.

After a hard-working display in the opening half, the Seasiders surged to victory in the last half an hour, with two goals in four minutes from top scorer Chris Venables setting up the win.

Bangor keeper Connor Roberts was red-carded with 21 minutes left to play, and Aber took charge with a smashing volley from the returning Geoff Kellaway, and a well earned fourth by Jamie Reed.

It was an emphatic win for Aber in their first game at Park Avenue since the end of October, and they were hoping to make home advantage count again against Carmarthen Town on Tuesday night.

The Seasiders then travel to Bridge Meadow to take on bottom club Haverfordwest on Boxing Day, before welcoming the Pembrokeshire Bluebirds back to Park Avenue on New Year’s Day.
