ABERYSTWYTH University overcame a half-time deficit to emerge 2-1 home victors in their Spar Mid Wales League division two match against Presteigne.
Although confidence is high in the university camp, they were given a jolt when the visitors took the lead as Kai Dayas provided a great pass through to Kieran Lusher, who finished well.
Despite playing some good football, and having their chances, the students were struggling to win the second ball, but came out with greater effort and tempo for the second period.
The arrival of substitutes Alistair Palmer and Nathan Lang helped the cause, and they were level when Tom Spicer found the net with a 25-yard lob from the right.
The points were secured five minutes from time in similar fashion, and this time it was Liam Powell who cut in from the left before firing into the top of the net, also from around 25 yards.
