ABERYSTWYTH University’s Rian Devlin has been awarded Spar Mid Wales League's Division Two Player of the Month for November.
News of Devlin’s award comes just four weeks after Christopher Warden had been awarded Division Two Manager of the Month award for October.
Another great month for Devlin saw him plunder seven goals in the league and a further three in the Central Wales Senior Challenge Cup. He has already scored 12 league goals during the season.
The November awards went to Division One Manager of the Month Adam Worton (Knighton); and Division Two Manager of the Month Shane Claridge (Builth Wells), whilst Division One Player of the Month was Richie Evans (Machynlleth).
Meanwhile it proved to be a very damp end of term for Aberystwyth University's first team, who had two postponements in last weekend's deluge.
Firstly Saturday’s home clash with Dyffryn Banw was called off due to a waterlogged pitch, and it was the same story as Sunday’s trip to Builth suffered a similar fate with no improvement in the weather.
It was a frustrating end to the year for the University, who had been in winning form to climb up to fourth spot in the Spar Mid Wales division two.
When they return from their Christmas break, they will face a busy spell of games, but confidence will be high as they will be looking to maintain their promotion push among the leading pack.
They are currently four points off second-placed Builth, but have four games in hand, following a run of nine wins and a draw from the 12 matches played.
• Aberystwyth University meanwhile go into their Christmas break top of their BUCS Western 4B Division after notching a 4-2 win at Gloucestershire Fourths.
With Rian Devlin grabbing his second hat-trick in four days, and Shaun Roberts also netting, the Aber students returned to Wales unbeaten in the first semester.
