CHAMPIONS Pwllheli piled on the agony on a spirited Dolgellau during a dominant second period, where they ran in five tries late to ensure a rather flattering scoreline at the end of this encounter.

In a match preceded by such heavy rain, the Pwllheli pitch held up well, but the gusty, variable wind did occasionally impact on the line-kicking of both teams.

The home side took the game to the visitors from the start, and they were rewarded a with an early Osian P Jones penalty.

Dolgellau came back, and their chunky pack kept possession effectively as they went through the phases to earn a penalty, which Geraint Thomas slotted over.

Pwllheli, however, threatened whenever they had the ball, whereas Dolgellau’s kicking game seemed to lack purpose, and it yielded very little territorial gain
