EIGHTEEN-YEAR-OLD Amy Thomas from New Quay has had 12 inches of hair cut off for the Little Princess Trust, a charity which makes real hair wigs for children who have lost their own hair and has raised over £300 in donations too.

Amy, a sixth-form pupil at Ysgol Gyfun Aberaeron, had originally just wanted to do some good, but was inspired to give to the Little Princess Trust after seeing the piles of hair on a visit to Auschwitz.

She is pictured before her hair cut by Andi Wagner of Roots in Aberaeron (left) and right, after the snip.
