ORGANISERS of popular Sea2Shore Food Festival have announced that the winner of The Apprentice, Alana Spencer, will be opening the festival when it returns in August.

Starting from humble beginnings in 2011, the Sea2Shore Food Festival, an annual event which takes place on Aberystwyth’s north promenade, has attracted thousands of visitors over the years, including Aberystwyth’s own Hollywood superstar, Taron Egerton, two years ago.

And confirmed to open this year’s festival, which will take place between 10am and 5pm on Sunday, 13 August, is the Aberystwyth entrepreneur and former Aberaeron pupil who shot to fame after winning last year’s BBC One series of The Apprentice.

Also in attendance will be Michelin Star chef Gareth Ward, from Ynyshir Hall, who will demonstrate some of his delectable dishes.

Stroll between the food stalls and take in the multitude of aromas from paella to pizza and everything in between.

Sample local cheeses, wines and liquors, buy local fish, organic vegetables and meat for your supper and some lovely cakes for dessert.

Take the kids to see the aquarium of local fish, let them have a go on the climbing wall and the go karts, have a paddle or catch a crab from the jetty.
