Sports Club

A VERY successful and enjoyable evening was held on 15 September at Aberaeron Sports Club.

A bowling tournament took place involving the bowlers and tennis players of the club, organised by Allen Jones and Nigel Davies.

There was a raffle with numerous prizes, donations from people who were unable to attend and an entrance fee for the players who took part.

£600 was raised, which was shared between two charities of the organisers choice, Macmillan Nurses and Cancer Research UK.

Bridge Club

CLEAR winners this week were Dai Hayes and Dylan Raw-Rees, with Keith Bellamy and Gill Howells coming second and John Valentine and Jen Harris third.

Dai and Dylan made the only slam contract of the evening.

A Six Hearts bid by John and Jen was doubled, with a resulting score of – 300 proving to be a ‘bridge’ too far!

Aberaeron Bridge Club meets in the Royal British Legion Hall each Thursday at 6.50pm.

Advice meeting

THE Advice Ceredigion Annual General Meeting will take place on 28 September, at the Feathers Hotel, at 1.15pm where the speaker will be Jane Davidson, pro vice chancellor for External Engagement and Sustainability, University of Wales Trinity St David.
