RICHARD Bramley of Farmyard Nurseries, near Llandysul, gave a talk this month on pond building, management and planting.

Richard talked first about siting the pond and then the different methods of construction before discussing the management and planting of ponds.

He had various plants from the nursery for sale at the end of the meeting and was able to chat and answer further questions.

In April, members enjoyed a coach trip to RHS Cardiff. The weather was chilly but relatively dry and everyone came back to the coach with bags of plants.

The next meeting, on 6 June, is an introduction to forest gardening by Jake Rayson.

He will be sharing his lessons learned from transforming a grass field into a forest garden.

Jake will also outline the principles and steps needed to create a self-sustaining, multi-layered, wildlife-friendly forest garden.

The meeting will be held in the Red Dragon Hall and starts at 7.30pm.
