LLANYSTUMDWY were in top goalscoring form in the NWCFA Junior challenge Cup on Saturday as they blew visitors Rhyl Dragons away 7-1 inspired by Darren Parry’s first half hat-trick.

Owen Pritchard added to their tally moments into the new half before Jack Gibbon pulled one back from the penalty spot for the Dragons.

Guto Griffith, player manager Sion Parry and Iwan Richards completed the rout for the hosts.

Blaenau Ffestiniog also progressed to the third round after beating visitors Rhos United 3-0 in a penalty shootout.

Bret Durkan looked like he had done enough to give Rhos the win when he finished past home keeper Bradley Roberts but 16-year-old Sion Roberts equalised.

Roberts was the hero at the end with a couple of saves in the shootout.
